Visual Supports

Visual supports are a great way to support pupils with Autism as they are permanent and don't disappear like the spoken word does. They can be used to help children with the structure of the day, they can also support communication, behaviour and learning. They help children understand what is being said to them as well as providing a way for children to express themselves. Visual supports can include objects, photos, symbols, drawings and the written word.
